Standing Pride

The Story

Standing Pride grew from a longstanding admiration for horses. Here, the horse carries more than physical strength. It embodies dignity, nobility, pride, authenticity, and a quiet kind of power that does not need to announce itself.

The surface of the painting is intentionally weathered. Cracks, patina, and tonal erosion do not suggest weakness; they suggest endurance. Like an ancient object that has survived centuries, the figure becomes more singular through what it has endured.

Gold details in the ornament and bridle introduce a sense of splendor and historical memory. At the same time, the muted green-gray tones and aged surface recall old ceramic objects whose colors shift with time while their identity remains intact.

Standing Pride is ultimately about honor and resilience. Time may leave its mark, but it does not break the essential character of the subject.
