Child on a Bus
Story / Concept
Created during the first week of the war in Ukraine and inspired by an image from the evacuation of Irpin, this work captures more than the face of a child. It reflects the contrast between danger and innocence, fear and imagination, leaving home and the struggle to survive. The simple drawing on the glass becomes a symbol of the child’s hope that the separation will end and the family will be together again.
This painting is not only about war; it is about vulnerability, memory, and the silent space between what a child sees and what they feel within.
